The next generation of wonderful Lightspeed sporting dogs has successfully started their Agility careers: Lightspeed Jet chose the big Blue Danube Trophy competition for their Agility debut, and it was a great success: Both Julia and Jet showed excellent nerves and perfect preparatory training: The competition went on for four days. Not only has the team managed to win into the second performance class in this single weekend, but they also came second over-all in the LK1-ranking. With that result they were qualified for the finals (the first 15 of each class were chosen for the finals on the last day) and they came there with a clean run! What a great debut!! Congratulations, Julia and Jet!! Great work!

Here is the video of Jet’s runs:

Cute little Lightspeed Hyperspace also had a successful Agility weekend: He was second with a clean run in LK1 at the Fuggerturnier in Augsburg. Well done, Lisa and Gordy!!! All the good training work is coming together now!! Video:

Julie, Darla, Glen, Guin and Flyte

Our own trials have been going well, too.

Wolfgang is qualified for the Continental again with Lightspeed Darjeeling and Lightspeed Glenfiddich. He is Austrian team captain and was number one with Darla and number two with Glen in the qualifications.

Sadly, I coulndt run my dogs, Julie and Flyte in the qualifications that year, as the dates clashed with my work schedule. No Continental for me, this year, but I will keep my fingers crossed for Darla and Glen!!

But here is a nice video of a fast double outrun trial with Julie at the beginning of July 2013. She won that run.

And here is a video of Guin’s class 2 run at the same trial, sadly the (very nice) outrun was not filmed. Second place for Guin:

Wolfgang’s Kass (Lightspeed Kassiopeia, ) won class 1 on that day in her trialling debut:

Lightspeed Fire Flyte has been awarded the Austrian Show Champion title in spring 2013. He has also been “angekört”, that is recommended for breeding by the Austrian FCI-club.

Flyte also had a few good placements in this year’s Agility World Championship Qualifications. (7th, 12th) He would have been n qualified to run on the final qualification weekend. I am very proud of him but I decided not to run for a place in the WC-team in South Africa this year. I wish all the teams competing there all the best of luck!!

Flyte has also become a father again! In the Czech kennel Banataj Wind 10 beautiful puppies were born in July 2013 by the friendly and beautiful blue merle girl Isabeau Dajavera. You can find their homepage here:

Julie has had her Obedience debut with young handler Julia. They did a very nice show with 222 points! Well done for Julia’s first ever Obedience test!!!

Congratulations, Lightspeed-fathers!

Congratulations to the fathers of the last four Lightspeed litters, who were very successfull in some big trials this summer:

All three dogs, Ron Snoeck’s Blackie (I-, J-litter), Serge v.d. Zweep’s Gary (K-litter) and Susanne Lejuez’ Eryri Jaff got into the finals of the Precontinental on the 20.- 22. of July 13.

Eryri Jaff was fourth in the Dutch National and on an excellent fourth position in the World Trial qualification for 2014.

What the L-, J and I-litter is doing in 2013:

The L-litter (Lady Julie X Eryri Jaff), born before Christmas 2012, is growing up very nicely: Here is Lightspeed Lionheart, the red boy, and Lightspeed Love Affair in classical black and white.

Lightspeed Lotus Leaf very much wants to become a cow-dog. She will work sheep, too, if asked, but if she gets her will (and she is quite good at getting her will) she will go off and collect the cattle, bulls and all!! As she is rather too young to do this, we were too occupied trying to call her off, when she was bringing in the Karin’s herd of Galloway cattle, that we havnt got around to doing a video yet. But here is a video of her working the sheep at six months old:

DSC03067 DSC03065

Also working and developing well are Lightspeed Light My Fire (Zippo), who is spending his sommer in the mountains in Alto Adige taking care of hundreds of cows, goats and sheep with his owner Daniel and his team-mates Ares and Kaos.

and Lightspeed Lifestyle (Twix), who is training for sheepdog trials, Agility and Obedience.

The I-litter (Lady Julie X Blackie at Conquest):

Lightspeed Ivory has been well and has passed the BGH1-(Obedience)-test twice, with 96 and 93 points and a first and second place. She also passed her Beginner herding test (Erweiterte Anlagenprüfung) And at the beginning of August she came fifth in her first GH-Beginner-trial. Congratulations!

Her brother Ian is running in Open Class trials in Italy in the meantime,

Here is Ian, who doesent often meet her mother Julie, but when he does they work together in perfect synchrony that is just beautiful to watch without the need to give them any commands.

The third Lightspeed I is brother Ice. He shows very nicely in sheepdog training, does some rescue work and has won his way into class 2 Agility. Well done, I’s!!

Lightspeed Jinx is doing very well again, too. She has recovered from her OCD operation as started the season 2013 with a first place in the Obedience competion BH1.

Little Jet (Guin X Blackie) is doing very well, too. Here is a training clip:

We are very proud to announce that she has done well in trialling, too. She already has the trial points in class 1 she needs to breed under the rules of the ASDS. Very well done, considering that Julia and Jet come only sporadically to train on sheep.

Little Lightspeed Jeremy (Guin X Blackie) won the Erweiterte Anlagenprüfung at Hohe Wand with 97/100 points! Well done, little boy!

He has also started his official Agility career and passed a BH and BGH1 Obedience competition.

Lightspeed Juniper and Jet have earned an Excellent in the International Dog Show in Graz in March 2013. June is training  Obedience and Agility and showing a great attitude in training, a lot of concentration and will to work.
